Fragmentation of Bicyclic γ-Silyloxy-β-hydroxy-α-diazolactones as an Approach to Ynolides

Medium-sized ynolides were prepared by the Lewis acid-mediated fragmentation of bicyclic γ-silyloxy-β-hydroxy-α-diazolactones in which the Cβ-Cγ bond is the ring fusion bond. Although these lactone fragmentation substrates reacted somewhat less efficiently than their carbocyclic counterparts, the fragmentation provided 11-membered ynolides in up to 84% yield. Unlike prior fragmentations of simi...

Pd-catalyzed coupling of β-hydroxy α-diazocarbonyl compounds with aryl iodides: a migratory insertion/β-hydroxy elimination sequence.

The coupling of β-hydroxy α-diazocarbonyl compounds with aryl halides is described, which proceeds through a Pd-catalyzed migratory insertion/β-OH elimination sequence. This reaction provides a new route to the synthesis of tetrasubstituted olefins.

One-pot preparation of substituted pyrroles from α-diazocarbonyl compounds

In this work an efficient one-pot synthesis of substituted pyrroles 7a-n is described, which involves the in situ formation of dihydrofurans ethyl 5-butoxy-2-methyl-4,5-dihydrofuran-3-carboxylate (4), 1-(5-butoxy-2-methyl-4,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)ethanone (5) and 5-butoxy-4,5-dihydrofuran-3-carbaldehyde (6) followed by reaction with primary amines.

comparison of catalytic activity of heteropoly compounds in the synthesis of bis(indolyl)alkanes.

heteropoly acids (hpa) and their salts have advantages as catalysts which make them both economically and environmentally attractive, strong br?nsted acidity, exhibiting fast reversible multi-electron redox transformations under rather mild conditions, very high solubility in polar solvents, fairly high thermal stability in the solid states, and efficient oxidizing ability, so that they are imp...

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
